Why is target heart rate important when working out?!
Question:
Why is target heart rate important when working out?
Answers:
it tells you if you are working hard enough... but also gives you an idea of when you are working too hard...
BUT if you are on medication like beta blockers then achieving your target HR may not be possible.
Really you target hr should be achievable with what feels like a moderate effort... if you have to go near all out... or are breathing so hard you can't carry on a comfortable conversation then you should kick it back a notch... slow down...
I find the right pace is go to where you have to start speaking in partial sentences... because you have to grab a breath... then slow just a tiny bit so that you can talk normally... and you should be right in your target hr range...
