Cario is short for cardio-vascular!. Anything that works out your heart and lungs!. It's important not just because it gets your heart rate up, burns calories, and increases metabolism!. It also gets your heart, lungs, and circulatory system in good shape--vital for every function you can think of, not just losing weight!.

Anything that raises your heart rate into your target heart rate zone is considered cardio!. It's recommended that you keep your heart rate elevated in that particular zone (particular to you) for at least 30 minutes at a time, though if you are new to exercise or it's been a long time, you will have to settle for less time until you've built p the stamina to do it longer!.

Examples: walking, running/jogging, swimming, biking, hiking, rowing, elliptical, stair-climbing, playing a sport (other than golf or baseball), etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cardio is an aerobic excerise!.!.!. anything that gets you heart rate up!. Such as running, walking, swimming, dancing, ect!.
1/2 hr to hr a day at least 3 days a week
