Scar tissue effecting slimmer belly?????!

Question: Scar tissue effecting slimmer belly!?!?!?!?!?
I have had about 10 surgeries on my stomach!. I have Crohns!. And I had my gallbladder out!. I have a 8 in scar from the top of my belly button to the pubic bone, 3 c section scars, appendix, and I had an iliostomy so there is a scar from that too, and my gallbladder scar is about 7 inches!. (yeah real pretty) So my question is: I know I have alot of scar tissue and my muscles have been cut into multiple times, will that effect the way my tummy slims!? Right now I look like I have a @ss on my stomach, lol!. Please don't be rude, these are survival scars and without them I would not be here!. Thank you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My dear, you have been through hell and back!. Glad you are still here to talk about it!

I've got a lot of scarring too!. The problem is that scars don't stretch and relax like normal skin - they make you look like you have a lot of loose skin!. I'm pretty thin but when I bend over I have a "bag" where my stomach should be and the skin gets all wrinkled around the scars!. Niiiiice!. Your muscles should heal and you can tighten them up!. You can lose a bit of weight (if you need to) and you will lose fat off your belly - but the skin may never look quite "right"!. I know how you feel!.

Like I said, I'm glad you're alive and well :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

No!. Those scars you can never get rid of, so you just have to cope with them!. You CAN exercise with them, and it will not afftect your body and your natural metabolism!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It would make sense that your muscles will be affected if they've been cut into!. Doesn't mean they won't tone up though, but it may be a lot more challenging for you to get the look you want, because your body has been altered by surgery!.

Do the best you can!. Working out and toning that area is probably still possible because the muscles are still there (right!?)

Sorry you've had such difficulties and glad you are still here! No reason to be rude, I've got a lot of loose skin on my stomach (and other areas) from having been obese!. There are certain positions (naked) that NOBODY sees me in, so I can relate to having some body image issues, but that skin is a reminder of how big I used to be (well over 200 lbs) and I'd MUCH rather see it empty and loose, than full of fat (so I can relate on a much smaller level)!.

Take care of you and good luck with your workout regime!Www@Answer-Health@Com
