Im 16 in a 5'9 frame... about my gym training?

how often should i go to gym in a week and how long for each visit... what kind of supplements or protein powder types should i consume to have the the right mass and muscles.. not going for the bodybuilder type tho.. just lean pecs and abs..thanks!


Answers:

Well, the more time you spend in the gym (as in days per week) the quicker you will see results. Every other day is good, and 30 minutes to an hour.

Even though you say you are not body building, you would use the same techniques. Professional body builders spend years and 8 hours a day in the gym to get the results you see. So your every other day using the same techniques will not get those results in 30 min or an hour.

Do check out the BB books in your library or local book store. It is the same technique to build definition. You can slow down your routine when you get where you want to be, go into maintance mode.

For protien shakes, there have been some excellent recommendations in prior posts. If you have not done a search of 'muscle' then you are missing out on some of the best answers posted in the resolved questions.

You can go to your local health food store or GNC and talk to one of the trained salespeople. They can give you the complete low down and you can compare labels and ingredients.
