Question: Is it ok to do atkins and south beach at the same time!? i mean kinda like put them together!?
like for example, if the south beach book says something is ok, but the atkins book says its not, and i have it anyway will the weight still come off bc im still avoiding bread and all that!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I read a Consumer Reports article that reviewed different diets, and they came to the conclusion that the people who were able to keep weight off the best, really used their own personal variations of diets, and then stuck with it, long term, rather than just until they'd lost the weight they wanted!. So you can adapt a diet to meet your own needs, what you like to eat, what fits in with your life!. The writers of the article also felt some diets were too extreme, for instance, they recommended limiting carbohydrates but not cutting them out entirely!. Just be sure you are getting enough nutrients everyday, and eating a reasonable number of calories!. If you have health issues, you should consult your doctor before starting any diet!. South Beach is a much safer diet than Atkins!. If you follow South Beach, you are not following Atkins!. If you follow South Beach consistently, you will lose weight and you won't get as bored as with Atkins!. It is more of a lifestyle change than a diet, which is why it's so much healthier!. With Atkins, you can lose weight, but it's not safe to stay on it, so then you put all the weight back on!. That just makes it harder to lose the weight again!.

Another good eating plan that is similar to South Beach is the Sonoma diet!. It's well balanced and is strongly based on the Mediterranean diet!. Those diets can interchange easier with South Beach than the Atkins diet can!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
