Should I take in carbs before sprinting while cutting fat?!
Question:
Should I take in carbs before sprinting while cutting fat?
I read that your body breaks down carbs then fat when running/sprinting.
If I do interval sprinting first thing in the morning, should I eat something with carbs in it? I wouldn't think so because otherwise my body has to use the carbs first then the fats. If I take out the carbs from the morning, then my metabolism after running will use mostly fats, correct?
Answers:
Not necessarily.
If you eat carbs (say, a diner roll as a healthy example) before running, you will gain a second wind, which actually helps you burn more fat.
However, if you skip the carbs, you don't get that second wind, you tire out quicker and are less likely to burn that extra fat you otherwise would have.
