Why do I always get cramps on my stomach when I work out? Specially when I do si!

Question:

Why do I always get cramps on my stomach when I work out? Specially when I do sit ups?

Answers:

Possibilities:

1. You are full or have eaten too recently. Wait at least 1 hour before working out, 1.5 hours if you are working your abs

2. You are dehydrated - drink plenty of water

3. Your abs are stiff and need to be stretched. Try this before you work out your abs:
- lie flat on your stomach
- put your hands on the ground near your armpits
- push up the upper part of your body leaving your legs on the ground as far as is comfortable
- hold for at least 15 seconds, repeat 3 times

Some or all of this should help, unless you have a more serious problem.
