What is a healthy amount of calories to burn at the gym?

I am an 18yr old girl whos 5 ft 2 in and 118 pounds. I want to loose a little more weight. I go to the gym 5 days a week and do cardio for half of the time at the gym. I eat about 1000 calories sometimes less daily. How many calories should i burn to loose weight fast but healthily on the cardio machines at the gym daily mon-fri?

1000 calories a day seems way too low. If you eat too few calories, your body thinks it's starving so your metabolism will actually slow down. Every 3500 calories is one pound of weight loss. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week. So just burn off 500 calories a da and that should be about a pound per week. But you definitely should be eating more or else all your exercise will be a waste. I'm close to your height and weight and i probably eat ~1800-2000 calories a day.
