Question: How can I loose weight for the long term; i'm 15 and very worried about my health!. Please Help!!?
Im 15 and a girl, and I really want to loose weight and become healthier overall!. I want to do this fo myself and I do'nt know where to start!. Since I'm a student, I dont really have time to go to a gym!. I don't eat that much as other overweight kids do!.!.!.i eat the same as my friends!. My ideal weight is supposed to be 120 lbs!.!.and i'm way over that (170)!. Please help!. I really appreciate it :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Make a habit of educating yourself!. You have the entire world at your disposal if you have the internet!. Use google!.

Everyone has time for the things they want to make time for!. Anyone can make the excuse to not work out, but it's up to you!. You need to develop a habit -- and this takes up to a month of consistency! It's hard, but you need to have a community of support around you!. It can be hard to get serious support from family and friends, so try joining an online community for this! Works great!. Livejournal is a good tool to use for this -- but be careful of anorexia blogs!!! STAY AWAAAAAAAAY!.

FITSPIRATION!.!. NOT THINSPIRATION!.

The amount you eat does not really matter, it is WHAT you eat!. Make sure you check nutrition lables on everything!. Going organic has a bad lable from the ignorant -- but this can help a LOT!. Check organic isles in your grocery store for great alternatives!. Stay away from trans fats and refined sugars!.

Research healthy diets, such as cutting out/limiting "white" foods from your diet -- ie, breads, rice, pasta, pastries, cookies!.

Also stay away from corn syrup! It's the devil!. Our bodies can not process it -- and is stored quickly as fat!.

Start making habits at a slow pace!. When I was a preteen, I went up to nearly 200 lbs at 5'4"!.!.!. I made a bad, and uneducated move!.!. and developed anorexia!. I thought it was the only way!. I went down to almost 90 lbs, but soon after moved closer to my older sister who is a personal trainer and introduced me to exercise and healthy eating habits!. Right now, i'm not perfect!.!. semi chubby, but its the difference of knowing how to make the changes that matters!. I know what to do now, but at this moment im just lazy :D

Another thing to point out!.!. Muscle weighs more than fat!. Stop weighing yourself immediately and buy a fabric measuring tape!. As you build muscle, it will not show immediately!. You may even get larger!.!. but muscle burns fat way more than cardio!. (Cardio burns fat and muscle at the same time)!.!. not to say cardio is not a great thing to do!. But focus on the long term!.

Keep a note pad journal you can buy at a dollar store to log your inches around your thighs, hips, waist, rib cage, triceps and keep track!. KEEP AT IT!. The worst thing you can do is stop!! LEARN YOUR BODY!.

A good thing to start off with would be doing squats in the morning!. Earlier in the day the better as working out speeds your metabolism!. You will develop a heavier appetite, but this is okay!.!. just make sure it is healthy stuff! Your legs have the biggest muscles in your body, so working these will burn fat all over your body a lot quicker!. As you get used to the habit of working out -- you can add on more exercises! When you are ready, purchase dumbbells from walmart or somewhere (theyre cheap!) and add them on to your squats!. You can google references on how to perform a squat the right way!. (Knees do not go over your toes!. Make sure you squeeze your butt!. Hold down for as long as you can, and lower your butt as far as you can go!. The more "reps" (Times you do it) the better!.!. aim for 15-20!.

First of all, if you really want to do this, it's time to be honest with yourself!. Our last three presidents all exercised 4-5 times a week for 45 minutes!. Even if you are the busiest student ever, you're not busier than the president;) Get up 30 minutes earlier and walk to school!. Or, when you get home, take a 45 minute study break to take a power walk!. Take 5 minute push up and sit up breaks!. Adding a pound of muscle will help you burn an additional 3000 calories per month (there are 4000 calories in a pound of fat)!. Here's an easy diet for students!. Pack a cup of Kashi Golean Crunch cereal and a bananna for lunch!. Have a cup of skim milk with it!. For breakfast, an apple is quick and filling!.

You have to eat healthy!. Vegetables, little to NO fast food!.
But the thing about staying skinny and staying healthy is, you have to do this the rest of your life!.

hey, drink lots of water, lots and lots of water!. it makes you way more full before meals!. If you eat nuts (like any nuts) a half an hour before you eat, then you'll also be more full!. Lay off the fast food as earlier stated!. 50 % of each of your meals should consist of vegetables!. try to walk to school( if possible) or just go on random walks after school!. or even bike rides!. well you can also try this technique which i use!. it get's easier as you do it!. whenever you have a craving to go on the computer, or watch tv, do 50 situps before and after!. i did this last summer and i lost 11 pounds ! it works!.!. lol!. idno, those are just a couple ideas!. and good luck !

oh, and one more thing!. try not to eat big meals, but a bunch of small snack throughout the day!. that will speed up your metablisim!. and!.!.!.if you workout or whatever before you eat you'll actualy be burning food as you eat it!. :)
