Getting into shape...need some advice, weight watchers?!

Question: Getting into shape!.!.!.need some advice, weight watchers!?
I am finally ready to start getting back into shape!. I'm 5'7" and currently around 190lbs!. I am hoping to get back down to the 145-150lb range!. I'm looking for help on how to take the first few steps!. Should I start working out a few days a week and gradually increase, or do I try and make myself go 6 times a week!? Its been difficult for me to get started because I work long days and by the time I am done with work I just want to get home and relax!. What is the best way to integrate working out into my daily routine!? And I was also considering Weight Watchers as well!. Has anyone had success with that program!? I'm looking to lose the weight and keep it off, no I'm not looking for a fad diet to slim down!. I realize that its a lifestyle change!.!.!. Just not exactly sure where to begin!! Any input is appreciated!.
Current workouts include daily walks/runs with my dog!. Occasional weekend hikes and occasional gym visits!. And as much as I would like to, a personal trainer is not in my budget!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sound like you are getting good amount of exercise!. To lose weight, you probably want to cut down the calorie intake!.

I lost 30 pounds the past 6 months!. I did not exercise much until a month ago!.

Here are what I have done!.
- I cut down my calories significantly by watching my sugar, fat intake!. I tried not to eat fried food, soda, deserts, etc!.
- I watch my portion!. I tried not to overeat!.
- I eat lots of vegetables & fruits!.
- I don't snack after dinner!.
- I switch from sweat cocktail (e!.g!., cosmopolitan, margarita) to dirty martini
- I eat cereal with lots of fiber contentWww@Answer-Health@Com

Bob Greene (from Oprah) mentioned that if you need to lose weight, you should exercise often!. Which means almost everyday some form of exercise!. You are walking/running your dog which is great!. Can you jog longer or take longer walks!? Maybe uphill!? Go for a long bikeride! And take more hikes! I would exercise as often as you can and as long as you can!. There are many articles about walking and losing weight!. And many people have lost weight walking so I don't think you need a gym or a personal trainer!. If you do belong to a gym, I would go more often and get a great workout in!. At work, you can take walks during breaks and take the stairs whenever possible!.
I have lost weight on weight watchers!. I like it because you learn about healthy eating, portion size and you use your own food! I also like Denise austion!.com!. Bottom line-- eat more veggies, salad, fruit, grilled chicken, whole grains and drink water!. And keeping a food journal helps alot!!
Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
