Right now I can only do 10 girl push ups!. How can I build up to being able to do straight leg push ups!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Keep with it!. You can keep doing girl push ups!. Those will build strength, eventually!. As well as that, push ups on a slant, as others have been saying!.

One important point I would like to bring up myself, is that you need to focus on where you weakness is!. When you are doing straight leg push ups, what fails first!? Are your arms giving out!? Your chest!? Is it your shoulders or back!? Your abs!? Straight leg push ups really are a full body workout!. That is probably why you are struggling; because so many muscles are being worked at once!. Next time you are doing girl push ups, concentrate on what muscle feels the weakest when you are at number 10!. Once you find where your weakness is, you can work on that!. There are many more ways to work these muscles than to just do push ups!. If it is your arms, work your arms!. You can do curls to work your biceps; and close grip bench press to work your triceps!. If it is your abs, lay on your back and do some leg lifts!. If the weakness is in your back then the following is a good suggestion: Lay on your stomach and lift one leg in the air!. At the same time, lift your arm of the opposing side in the air (right leg, left arm or left leg, right arm)!. Eventually, after working these parts of the body separately, you will have enough strength in each one to do a straight legged push up!. These are only a few exercises I have given you to work these muscles in isolation!. Try searching the internet or ask if you would like more examples!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just do them!. Seriously!. You will not be able to do as many of the regular pushups as you do the modified ones, but in order to build up the strength, it will take time and the actual motion of the push up!.

Do this!. Try a straight push up on the floor!. Do as many as you can!. IF it's only one!.!.then pat yourself onthe back!.!.you have to start somewhere, right!? Next!.!.!.take a look at the couch, the stairs, a counter, anything that is sturdy that you can do a regular push up off of but on an incline (not level with the floor)!. Keep your abs tight, back straight and do them!. Do as many as you can, no need to count!.!.!.!.just do them until you fatigue!. Do not do them everyday (try everyother or every two days)and keep working on it!. You'll get it!.!.!.!.it just takes practice and time!. You'll build up your new modified pushups and eventually be able to knock 10 or more real ones in a matter of months!. Yes, it does take time to build them up!.

Good luck and keep moving!Www@Answer-Health@Com

well speaking as a fitness guru!.!.!. everything takes time!.!.!. you start out doing knee pushups, then progressively work out your chest every other day to muscle failure!. I recently got these push up swivel machines called "the perfect push up" they are excellent and follow the natural curvature of your muscles adduction!.!.!.

you may not be able to do any of those at first as they are naturally harder than any regular form of push ups!.!.!.

stay with it though, consistency is the key when working out!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Keep doing your modified pushups but also work your chest and other upper body muscle by doing other moves:

Bench press
Dips
Holding plank position

Also when you do your modified pushups, vary the speed that you do them!. You can do them fast or slow, and you can stop and hold it anywhere along the way!. The key here is to work the muscle (and supporting muscles) in different ways!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Find yourself some stairs!. Put your feet on the floor and put your hands 4 or 5 steps up!. Your body should be leaning, but not all the way on the ground!. Practice doing 20 of these per day!. When you can easily do 20, move down a step!. Keep going until you are on the ground!

Ta-da!Www@Answer-Health@Com
