Caffeine and the heart?!

Question:

Caffeine and the heart?

Can a lot of caffeine cause or at least contribute to a heart attack, especially if the person is Obese. Like 3 or 4 glasses a day of tea or soda. Can it damage the heart?

Thank you for your response. I can't find anything specific on the internet.

Answers:

Yes, I think that definitely it can affect the heart after a long period of time. I only weigh 115 pounds, and I have pains in my heart because I drink a lot of caffeine trying to cram in College. (I go to school full time, and work 50 hours a week at a very stressful job). I would definitely recommend cutting down if possible. I do think that the tea is the best though if you have to have the caffeine, because it doesn't have nearly the amount of sugar that soda or iced coffee has. Try exercising. It sounds unusual, but after a few weeks of a steady routine of exercising, I actually felt that I had more energy...my problem is that I just don't have the time to hit the gym. Hope this helps! Good luck!
