Question: Hypothyroid and weight loss 10 pts!. best answer!!!!!?
Ever since I was in 10th grade I had to take Synthroid for my essentially dead thyroid!. I know it controls the metabolism, but I refuse to blame my weight problem on it!. Has anyone had any good routines or diet plans to shed some pounds!. I'm talking major weight loss, not Oh my god I need to lose five pounds, I mean at the very least 35 to begin with!. You will need to eat more often like 5-6 small meals with the calories divided evenly this will kick start you metabolism and you will have more energy thoughout the day!. Eat high protein, moderate carbs and low fat diet!. Good protein sources are chicken (with skin removed), turkey, fish, lean pork, lean beef and tofu are all good options!. Good carb sources are whole wheat bread, brown rice, oatmeal, yams, potato, and whole wheat pasta are some good choices!. Also eat lots of fruits and veggies!. Drink 8 cups of water a day, if you must have soda drink the diet version (0 calories)!. Exercising is very important!. Do cardio and resistant training!. One hour a day!. You can do one hour of cardio a day then the next day do one hour of resistant training or you can mix it up half hour of cardio and half hour of weight training or vice versa!. To lose weight with the condition, you must be on the right medication and the right dosage!. Testing should be done first thing in the morning when metabolism is near its slow point!. Goal when on Synthroid is to get a TSH around 1!.0 (morning reading) You might also want to make sure you are converting the T4 to T3 by having a free t3 test!.
