How often should I work my biceps?!


Question: How often should I work my biceps!?
At the moment i have some 5kg dumbbells (which are heavy for me) i can do about 12 reps of these maximum!. So i do 2 sets of 12 reps and my arms hurt lol!.

Apparently you are meant to workout then take a day of rest on these muscles before repeating the workout correct!? If i do this workout on say monday does that mean i cant do any push ups or pull ups or lighter weights on my arms until wednesday!?

Iam anxious to build up my arms so i dont like not doing any push ups or weights!. Any answers will be greatly appreciated!.

Theoretically you muscles need at least a day to recover!. I do all my weights/resistance stuff on one day!.!.!.then have a day of rest (or do some cardio)!. 3 times a week is plenty, especially if you're doing them correctly (which is sounds like you are!)!. If you want to break things up you could do upper body on one day (so arm weights, push ups, pull ups) and legs on another (squats, lunges, leg lifts etc)!. That way you could workout two days in a row but the muscle group gets a day's rest!.

I know what it feels like to want to do the weights every day - it's hard to back off!. But honestly you will see better results if you do let the repair happen properly (and as the muscles repair they build up)!. If you're itching to do something go for a run or a swim or even just a long walk!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why work out ur arms only!? What about the other parts of ur body!? Don't u wish to have a well structured physique !?
If 5 kg dumb bells are 2 heavy, then use a lower weight!. Work out on 3 sets of 15 reps each, leaving a gap of 2 days in between!. After a few days work out, u'll feel the arm work out comfortable & easy!. Now, switch to the higher weight for 3 sets of 15 reps each & continue in this manner!. Other exercises for ur biceps workout with dumb bells are concentration curls, hammer curls (biceps/forearms) & curls with arms raised to the sides!. For ur triceps single/double hand raises & reverse curls for ur forearms!. Squatting & push ups are also very effective exercises, try them out too, u'll love it!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

every other day!. The muscles need around 48 hours to repair!. So do bicep on monday wednesday and friday!. That should be fine!. Also remember to progress the workout so that whenever you feel like you can do one more set of 12 then do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
