How much do I have to eat to build arm/shoulder muscles?!

Question: How much do I have to eat to build arm/shoulder muscles!?
I have been working out for about a month or so and the results are minimal to none!. I work out about an hour to an 1 1/2 hours M, W, F every week with exercises emphasizing the upper part of the body (shoulders, biceps, triceps, delts, etc)!. And yet, I see next to nothing in the mirror!.

Maybe I'm just impatient but I've been told that I don't eat enough!. I have no clue how much to eat!. I added it up, and I take in about 2200 calories when I work out and about 1800 calories on my day off!.

I feel I'm eating the right things such lean meats, fish, whey protein after working out, milk, yogurt, almonds, veggies and just about any other "work out" food!.

I'm lost though!. Anyone got advice!?

Thanks!. =o)Www@Answer-Health@Com

My neighbor is a power lifter and he eats close to 4,000 calories a day!. He eats a lot of chicken broccoli and brown rice!. He also takes protein drinks!. He eats 4-5 times a day!. He works out about 4 times a week!. You could also check with a nutritionist at a gym!. Do not ask the people at the supplement stores because they just want to sell more stuff than you need and not always is it what you need!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Eat well!.
When you have breakfast eat as much as you can!. Eat your biggest meal in the morning so thn you have all day to burn off the calories!.
Eat as much protein as you can like you said you eat work out foods such as fish and meat and whey protein after workouts so just keep this up and your muscles will get bigger and be patient it takes time, I know this from personal experience!.
Also work on each area of the shoulders (frontal, medial and rear) and also vary exercises and try to use free weights when possible as this will help with working on specific muscle areas!.
I hope this has helped you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Alright, first of all, it looks like you are determined and disciplined about this whole looking better thing!. It also seems as if you are eating the right foods!. However, right away, it could be two things!.
One, you may just not be eating enough food!. Because you are working out so much, I suppose your body is burning a lot more calories than you think, especially if you have a high metabolism anyways!. Therefore, it cannot hurt to eat a little more food, protein especially, since your body uses protein to build muscle!.
Two, it also depends on when you eat!. Optimally, you need to eat protein ( and a little carbs) AS SOON AS YOU GET DONE WORKING OUT!. Seriously, right after you get done working out, if your body does not have fuel within an hour or two, it starts to eat away at the fat and muscle you already have!. Yes, this definitely sucks!. Therefore, unless your muscles are getting fuel to rebuild right after you work them out, it is doing no good (well, just a little good I suppose) Therefore, make sure you def!. eat some protein AS SOON AS you get done!.
These two things should def!. help!. Also, remember, this is going to take time!. You are not going to look totally different in 2 or 3 weeks, it is going to take 2 or 3 months!. Therefore, good luck and stick with it!. Also, for specifics(well, more than I have just written) go to www!.bodybuilding!.com/ They have TONS of articles and weights and nutrition and everything!. Anyways, good luck and god speed, have a good day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
