Calcium Intake Question!!?!


Question: Calcium Intake Question!!!?
I know this sounds odd, but I reallllllly don't like Milk!.!. But i have cereal often and i don't use much milk in my cereal (b/c i don't want to waste since i dont drink the milk taken up while i eat the cereal) so I only put a few tablespoons in there!. That much gets absorbed by the cereal!. so my question is!.!.!.

even though i am not physically drinking milk, is my body still receiving the calcium through food that has absorbed milk and is saturated with it than what it would normally receive if i was drinking that amount of milk!?!?

As long as it's all gone from the cereal bowl you've consumed everything you put in!.
Nutritionists say that you need at least 3 servings of milk/dairy per day!. There are other ways to get calcium!.!.!.yogurt, fortified foods, some vegetables, even ice cream!.

There are lots of foods with calcium in them!. Many green vegetables have absorption rates of more than 50 percent, compared with about 32 percent for milk!. In 1994, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported calcium absorption to be 52!.6 percent for broccoli, 63!.8 percent for Brussels sprouts, 57!.8 percent for mustard greens, and 51!.6 percent for turnip greens!. The calcium absorption rate from kale is approximately 40 to 59 percent!. Event thought you are getting some milk in your body from the little you add to your cereal!. You should have at least 3 8oz glasses of milk a day!. Some of the things you body does not get from the lack of calcium is less bone density!. Another think is weaker teeth just b/c you have less calcium in your body!. Since you aren't drinking much milk at all, you really should take a calcium supplement - either chewable or in pill form (that you swallow)!. Women are a lot more likely to get osteoporosis and calcium helps prevent this!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would also like to add, drinking lots of sodas can decrease calcium, especially if your intake is low!. Soda contains phosphorus!. They have an inverse relationship - if one is high the other is low!. Your blood has about 1% of your body's calcium in it!. This level must be maintained!. If it is low (due to phosporus intake, or little calcium intake) it will take away from the calcium in the bones, leaving you at a higher risk for osteoporosis later in life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
