Why does it look as though I'm getting fatter?!

Question:

Why does it look as though I'm getting fatter?

I've been lifting weights for about two months now. I don't eat a lot of food expecting to get stronger. I just eat basic chicken or steak, red beans and rice and some vegetables. I drink protein drinks too. But I've gained so much since I've benn lifting weights. I went from 185 to 220lbs. I see some muscle definition. But when I have my shirt on, people think I'm getting fat. Why?

Answers:

If you had excess fat on top of the muscle you are gaining, you wont see it so much, instead you will just look more chubby.

So the question is: what can you do to start sculpting?

In order to cut the fat you need to incorporate cardio training into your workout routine. 2 to 3 sessions a week of 20 to 30 minutes, and make sure that your heart rate stays within fat burning zones (65 to 70%) To figure this, subtract your age from 220, then multiply by .65 for the minimum, and .70 for the maximum.

Ideally you should be lifting every other day, then do cardio on the days you dont lift.

Monday, wednesday, Friday: lift

Tuesday Thursday saturday: cardio

Sunday, rest

this will eliminate the excess fat on your body and allow your muscles to show and look more toned instead of fat.

Hope this helps

Good luck
