I want to cut down on foods?

What are 10 simple things that I can start doing today to start cutting down?

Such as drinking water instead of pop..etc.


Answers:

1. Eat smaller portions. It helps to eat on smaller plates and bowls. And you don't have to eat everything that's in front of you!

2. Cut down on sugary drinks like soda. If you cut out a soda a day for an entire year, you can lose ten pounds!

3. Find healthy alternatives to fattening foods. Examples: low-fat popcorn, healthy balance butter, weight watcher's muffins, frozen yogurt, baked Lays potato chips, and turkey instead of beef. I've tried these all and they taste great!

4. Keep a diet journal. This is a must, and a lot of people who have lost weight say that this is one of the things that has helped them the most. You'll realize just what you're eating.

5. Count calories. In versus out. Burn more than you eat to lose weight.

6. Get enough protein. Protein will help you feel full throughout the day, so that you'll actually eat less. Examples: meat, eggs, and milk.

7. Get enough fiber. Fiber helps you feel full too. It also helps regulate your digestive system. Examples: vegetables, fruit, Benifiber.

8. Take a vitamin in the morning.

9. Sleep well. 7-9 hours is what adults need. Getting enough sleep is even more important than exercise and will help you eat less. It lowers your appetite.

10. Keep tempting foods away from you. When you reach for a snack, make it healthy like fruit, vegetables, and whole grains.

And, a bonus:

11. Be aware of what you're eating. Make what you eat conscious. Count to 20 before you eat what's on your mind. Then, when you eat it, pay attention. Don't watch tv or anything else. Savor the moment so that your brain knows that you're eating.
