What's the best way to get very muscular calves?!

Question: What's the best way to get very muscular calves!?
I run and bike a lot, but all it seems to do is just tone my calves!.
I want them to be muscular, much more than they are now!.
If I do calf raises, how long will those take to get something like this!?

So, beefyness comes from tearing the muscle as well as constantly working it out!. You can't achieve it overnight, but at your age you should be able to get something comparable within a year or two!. Here is what I would suggest:

1) Whenever you are "standing around" or moving in an slow line, stand on your tip toes!. Nothing extreme, just hold your heels about one inch off the ground!. This will also improve your balance as you learn to walk this way!.
2) Three times a day, balance yourself next to a wall and stand as high as you can on your tip-toes and hold for 5 seconds and then drop back down to your heels!. Repeat this ten times!. After doing this for a few months, you should be able to just drop back down to keeping your heel 1" off the ground!. You may also increase the time you hold the pose to ten seconds!.

I used to do this (and sometimes still do), and I have calves that look similar to the picture!. I'm 31 and weigh 280 pounds!. Yeah, it's mostly muscle!. At 17 I used to lift cars!. At 21 I was tossed out of a bar for picking up a Golden Tee video game!. To this day I don't get tired standing on my tip toes!. Usually after ten to fifteen minutes I get bored!. There is a 400 foot high waterfall with a one mile trail that I love to hike to the top of!. On the way down, I do it all on my tip toes!.

You'll have calves like this in one year if you do #2 four times a week and #1 whenever you can!. Much more and you won't give your muscles time to heal!. Make sure you take a multivitamin and calcium citrate with magnesium to make sure your muscle builds back nice and strong!. Good luck!. It's fun!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your current activities at the ones that I would recommend to get muscular calves!. If these are not doing the job, you are probably dealing with genetics - and that's keeping you from having the enlarged muscles you're looking for!. If this is the case, there's nothing you can do to get them - except plastic surgery (calf implants) but I can't imagine there are many vain enough or rich enough or willing to go through what must be a very painful recovery to do this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do calf raises with a lot of weight!. If you're looking for muscle mass then the best way to do it is by doing small sets with as much weight as you can!. (Don't hurt yourself though!) So, fewer reps with a lot more weight! But that's gonna help you with an explosive step, if you want strong calves to bike or run its completely different!. So if you want just huge calves, then few reps with a lot of weight, but if you want very strong normal sized calves just do it normally!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

this is what i do and it works very well!.

go on fast paced jogs (about a mile maybe a liltle bit more) where you run as much on your tiptoes as you can without slowing you down!. more on the balls or your feet than anything!.!.!.almost like your running in imaginary highheels!. go this once a day, push yourself to go faster and longer each week!.

you should notice a difference within a week, goodluck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have to workout right, 3 times a week and do 5 sets of 8-12 reps!. Try for 12 reps!. When you get comfortable with a specific weight raise the weight!. 3 months but you need to take 1 gram of protein per pound of your body weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

there are machines at most gyms where you use your legs to push a board!. by just using your feet, your calves will get strongerWww@Answer-Health@Com

You could always join a swimming team!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
