That's actually a myth!. What you need to stay hydrated properly is about 8 eight ounce glasses of fluid- or the equivalent!. Anything that will pour, except alcohol, counts towards that fluid requirement!. Food even counts, as most food contains at least some water!. A certain amount of just plain water is good for you, as it gets absorbed by the body quickly, and doesn't contain any calories or anything else you might not need!. But as most people would never drink that much water, certainly not 8 glasses worth, fortunately for you the body is pretty adept at absorbing water from all sorts of places!. If you like to put oj in yours, or a squirt of lemon juice, that's fine!. It's all fluid to the body in the end!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It really is the FLUID that you drink rather than water!. As others say it's best not to drink too much with sugar in it!.

You really should drink enough not to be dehydrated and one good way to know if you are drinking enough is to observe the colour of your urine which should be pale not dark!.

One does not drink all these glasses in one go but distributed over 24 hrs!. and one need not add any thing to it!.

Eat well but only when hungry and not more than thrice a day!. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%!.
