Those exercises train different muscles, so you cannot compare them!.

The plank trains the transverse abdominis, which sits underneath the muscle rectus abdominis, which is what crunches train!.

The transverse abdominis keeps your gets from spilling out, it acts as your weight belt!.!.!.!. this is what gets you a flat stomach!.

The rectus abdominis stops things from coming in (ie, a punch) and gives you that 6-pack everyone wants!.

Both of these muscles, as well as the obliques, pelvic floor and the erector spinae (back) muscles make up your body's core, and should be trained at least once a week!.
The stronger your core is, the easier and heavier you can do other exercises!

As already said, diet is crucial when it comes to wanting to see your 6-pack!.

So do a mixture of crunches, hanging leg raises, the plank, bicycle crunch, and the prone cobra for a total core workout!Www@Answer-Health@Com

When trying to achieving sculpted abs, your diet is more important than any ab workout you do!. Without it, all that hard work you put in will go to waist!.
