I think you can easily lose a decent amount of fat by August!. August is 9 weeks away, and you can easily and safely lose about 20 pounds (2 stone or 9 kg, I'm an American, so I think in pounds!. I'll try to make most of the conversions for you but apologize if I forget one or two)!. In reality, if you stick with what I'm about to put out, you will probably lose more than that and will definitely lose more than that if you have been sedentary up until now!. By the way, I like how you said you wanted to lose dress sizes and not weight!. That's a great step in the right direction, as you want to maintain (or add) lean body mass (to help you keep the weight off in the future) while losing fat!.

Diet is a huge part of what you're trying to do, so it goes first!. Basically, you want to eat the recommended food pyramid with a few clarifications:
1) Carbs should be mostly fiber!. Avoid sugar, maltose, fructose, high fructose corn syrup (I HATE THIS JUNK!!), and something that none of us think of as a sugar - refined and/or enriched white flour!. Artificial sweeteners have also shown the ability to slow and stop fat loss, even though most of them don't have much affect on insulin levels (insulin spiking is one of the things that causes your body to store calories as fat)!.

2) Fats should be the good fats from cold water fish (salmon, tuna, etc), seed oils (flax seed, sunflower, etc), nuts (watch the sugar and trans fats in nut butters, though), ground flax seed (you don't digest regular flax seed, but since it has these fats, ground flax seed needs to be refrigerated), and olive oil!.!.!. The good fats are the omega-3s, -6s, and -9s!. You usually don't hear about the 9's because your body can make what it needs if it gets enough 3's and 6's, but I digress!.

3) Protein should be lean protein, like turkey, chicken, fish, and lean cuts of beef!. Beans are a good source of both protein and fiber, but canned beans have a lot of added salt, which you should avoid or rinse/soak off!.

4) Speaking of salt, you need to drink a lot more water than you were thinking!. You should drink a minimum of one ounce (28g) of water per kg of weight!. If you exercise regularly (which I'm about to tell you to do), you should drink 1!.5 (43g) ounces per kg!.

Stay away from low carb diets, diet pills, fasting, master cleanse, and any other fad out there!. Upsetting your diet will upset your system!. A side effect may be weight loss, but there can be severe damage to your system that can cause worse health problems, weight gain (usually more than you lost due to less lean body mass to help keep your metabolism amped up), hair loss, bad skin, bad breath, and the list goes on!.!.!.

Now that you know what to eat, you need to know how often!. You need to eat five (women) to six (men) meals a day, eating something every three to four hours!. These can be three meals and two to three snacks, or all small meals!.!.!. Just do as much as you can work into your schedule knowing that just doing this can probably get you half-way to your goal on its own!. I know this is a huge change for most people, but it really is the best way to keep your insulin levels steady, control hunger and cravings, while creating the caloric deficit required to burn fat!.

So, drop and give me 20! Seriously! Push up position, HUT! I always get a groan from my training clients when I get all drill sergeant on them, and I imagine you're doing the same, right now!.

Not that you need to enlist, but you should take a queue from the military and incorporate exercise and more specifically, bodyweight exercises into your daily regime!. Starting out, you should do three days of cardio (running, walking, swimming, etc), three days of weight lifting, and one day of rest (Wohoo)!. Weight lifting doesn't need to be free weights, weight machines, and even gym time, since all you really need is to do some push ups, pull ups (negative pull ups where you resist going back to earth are fine if you can't do pull ups, yet), lunges, squats, crunches, dead lifts, leg lifts, and other body weight exercises are perfect for getting back into shape!. If you don't know an exercise, I highly suggest you schedule a session with a personal trainer to learn proper form and function, as well as to develop a full-body workout to use on your own!.

Remember to drink lots of water and get lots of sleep!. Energy drinks are full of sugar and other (sometimes worse) things that will give you temporary energy but will also add fat from an insulin spike!. The only caveat to this is within half an hour of weight lifting exercise!. Your body will absorb sugars (to replace glycogen stores, but watch the calories, since it's easy to over do it) and protein (to help rebuild muscle fibers and replace ATP stores)!. Like I said, watch the calories, though!. Liquid calories are the least filling of any food, but can be highly concentrated (the number two ingredient in a famous sports drink designed for the Florida Gators is sucrose and the number three ingredient is High Fructose Corn Syrup!. YUCK!)

I sincerely hope you give this a try because if you do, you'll find that you really love your new lifestyle!. Weight won't matter to you!. You'll know you look good and you'll feel even better! You'll live a longer, healthier, happier life!.

A little about me: I used to be a professional bodybuilder!. I have a Bachelor's in Exercise and Physiology and a Bachelor's and Master's in Human Nutrition!. I specialize in people who need to lose 100 pounds or more, but have a decent client list of actors (I live in the Los Angeles Area, so this is actually pretty common), actresses, models (male and female), trophy wives (and one trophy husband!. I give him a hard time about it!. He's such a good sport!.), and a bunch of formerly obese and soon to be formerly obese people who refuse to live without my services!. I have two clients who have lost over 200 pounds under my tutelage, and one of them has kept it all off for over ten years (the other for seven)!. I usually weigh anywhere from 220-250 pounds and maintain 6-8% body fat!. The leanest I have ever been was 275 pounds at 2!.3% body fat (during competition season when I was a pro bodybuilder)!. The diet I used was very similar to what I mentioned above, with a few small changes that I won't get into!.

I apologize if this seems disjointed and disorganized!. I pulled this together between clients and my thinking kept changing from point to point!.!.!. I think it affected the readability, but I have to run, so this will have to do!.

Good Luck!

Edit: Some points from other posts made me rationalize that I can be late for this next appointment, since I wanted to get this info to you and it's not a client I'm making wait:

1) Lifting weights won't make you look fat since there's a very small chance (less than 1/2 %) that you actually have the genetics to get bulked up, plus, you have to lift big heavy weights to get hypertrophy!. Trust me, I had to work really hard for every ounce of muscle I packed on my frame, *and* I have the genetics for it!. Just to be safe, you can go with light weights and higher repetitions to tone and maintain your current lean body mass!. Better yet, stick with body weight exercises!. Unless you incorporate planches into your workout, you don't run the risk of getting all bulked up!.

2) Running by itself will help you lose weight, but running is a catabolic exercise, meaning you will also lose muscle!. To keep the weight off in the future, you have to keep running!. By doing less cardio and more weight-bearing exercise, your metabolism will skyrocket, helping you to burn more calories for as long as you maintain that lean mass!. That's why I suggest you do both!. If you just want to get skinny, then run until your feet fall off, but be prepared to keep running to keep the weight off!.!.!. No rest! Get moving! (OK, it's not that bad, but it is something you'll want to consider for when you're older and the fat gets harder to keep off as your metabolism slows down)!.

3) awaanboilyerheid got it right and made good points!. They get a thumb's up vote from me!

4) Diet pills do more harm than good!. Most of them are stimulants that can damage your pituitary gland, causing thyroid problems and worse!. Plus, if the safe diet pills really worked, they'd be classified as drugs and you'd need a prescription for them!. The really unsafe ones are pulled from the market (EFA Stack, which worked but can do really serious damage to your body and metabolism), while the scam diet pills make for expensive urine and a rich vitamin company!.!.!.

5) 1200 calories may be too few for you, causing you to go into gluconeogenesis (starvation mode)!. It's really bad for your metabolism, so make sure you always eat your 80% of more of your TDEE, which is a multiplier of your BMR (use the Katch-McArdle formula using lean body mass to figure out your true BMR, figure in your TDEE multiplier based on exercise levels and then never go below 80% of that number in caloric intake, every day!. Search for it on the web!. There are tons of BMR calculating resources out there for you)!. Your body can go into starvation mode within 6 hours, so this really is a daily thing for you to stick to!.!.!.

Diet and exercise is the only safe way to go, and I hope you take it!

Again, good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can do it if you want to do it!. Anything is possible if you want it enough!.
I made a new years resolution in Jan this year to lose weight, and decided it was now or never as I turn 40 this year!. I started to eat healthily ; plenty of fruit and veg ,lean meat, fish and skimmed milk with portion control and combined this with loads of cardio exercise ( 90 mins a day 5 days a week), and some weight training!.
I,ve gone from a 18 to a size 8 in 5 months and lost 3!.5 stone in the process!. I feel great and people don't recognise me any more!. It's been hard work and I haven't finished yet as I still have to tone up a bit more, and mantain it which could be hard as I like to eat so I need a lot of will power but!.!.!.
I assure you that if I can do it !.!.!.anyone can !!

The only down side is that it's cost me a fortune in clothes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

first off check your B!.M!.I (you can search it up on google "B!.M!.I calculator) this can determine if your weight it healthy!.
Also to loose weight
you have to burn more calories then you eat!.!.!.
normally in a day you burn off every Calorie you eat, but if you exercise every day you will burn even more !!! you should be eating about 800-1000 calories a day but if your burning extra calories a day, you will be on the right track!.
and if you ever get a temptation to eat junk food, think to yourself that if i eat this i will have to work SO much harder to burn it off!.

to burn it off, i personally run for 15 min a day
cardio is what really helps loose weight
you dont have to run, biking is fine to
anything that makes your heart beaat alot
cause cardio burns fat
other then lifting weights or doing sit ups witch build mucle under neith the fat making you look fatter!.!.!.
