Weight Loss Question?!

Question:

Weight Loss Question?

My friend's daughter is 15 years old, about 5'5" and weighs 220lbs. The thing is that she doesn't look her weight at all. She does look alittle on the chubby side, but most deffinately not 220 lbs. She really would like to be about 140-150 lbs and would like to lose at least 35 or 40 lbs over the next 2 1/2 months. What exercise should she be doing, and what are things she needs to do to accomplish her goal?

Answers:

The most important concept to weight loss is that you have to burn more calories than you take in.
She should eat a well-balnced diet:
she could eat 5 or 6 small meals a day, mostly fruits and veggies with a little bit of meat and bread or pasta.
She should also eat or drink 3 servings of dairy products a day (if she is not allergic).
Also, she needs to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
If she does not drink enough water, her body will think its dehydrating and actually start to RETAIN water.
Eating well will definately help her look AND feel better.
As far as exercise...
She should do things that are fun to her, such as swimming or taking walks.
She should probably do about 30 minutes of moderate exercise, like brisk walking or swimming laps.
Hope this helps!
