Calories in Fruits and Vegitables?!

Question: Calories in Fruits and Vegitables!?
This may sound strange, but I honestly have no idea if fruits and vegitables have calories or not!. If so how many!? I would like to know about apples, oranges, bananas, grapes, strawberries, green beans, carrots and corn!. Sorry if this question seems lame but I'm going on a calorie diet and I just don't know these things! Thanks for you help!Www@Answer-Health@Com

They do have calories!. Calories come from almost everything you eat!. Most fruits have sugars, wich cointain 4 calories per gram!. Grains and vegetables such as potatoes and carrots have a high starch contents which is also 4 calories per gram!. Green beans, lentils have a relatively high protein content (also 4 cal/gram) and some other foods like avocado and peanuts contain oils (9 cal/gram)!.

Fruits and vegetables are usually of a low caloric density!. That is, their caloric content is small compared to a typical portion size!. For instance, a smal apple is about 150 grams and contains about 80 calories!. A large egg is about 50 grams and contains about the same calories!. This is because fruits and vegetables are usually high in water and fiber and very low in fats (wich give more than twice the calories per gram than carbs and protein)!.

Always remember that there is much more to healthy eating than simply calory counting!. A healthy diet should contain all food groups in the right amounts and in the right combinations!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

most veggies are low calorie but typically leafy veggies are the lowest in cals!. fruits contain more carbs than veggies so they are almost always higher in calories!.

Fruits have calories because they have natural sugars in them!. They should definitely still be part of your diet even if you are restricting calories though! Vegetables for the most part have little or no calories!.!.!.I think that corn may be higher calorie count but still VERY low!. Pretty much, the sweeter the fruit/veggie, the more calories - so grapefruit is lower because it is bitter!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

of course they have calories in but very few
this is because fruit and vegetables are mainly water
one serving of sweetcorn is about 70 cals, and apple is about 30, a banana 40 and most other servings of vegetables (pees, carrots, beans) have about 40-50 cals
hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com
