Listening to your body?!

Question: Listening to your body!?
How would you advise somebody to start listening to their body when it comes to eating, I rarely feel huingry as I eat when I want to usually when i'm bored have nothing to do and eating something good seems really appealing!. The thing is i think i've relied on that way too much becuase now when I am not eating I feel like theres something missing and i'm just thinking about my next munch and when I can eat it!.,

I dont want my life to revolve around food or i'm gonna be a porky pie at the moment i'm not too bad just a bit of toning up to do, but I really wanna know how to control what I eat by listening to my body and eating when i'm hingry rather that when i'm bored depressed or simply want to eat for the sake of, if any of this makes sense to you please helpWww@Answer-Health@Com

Wow this is weird, I was hoping someone would ask a question like this!.

I've been thinking about this a lot too, it started the other night when I was in bed!. I was sort of moving my legs and stuff, you know that restless leg syndrome thing!? Kind of like that!. I thought to myself "My body has been on the go since this morning, and I can't even let myself just relax and use this time to sleep and let it repair itself!." It was kind of amazing to feel the sensation of just lying still and breathing, and it's weird to get used to actually listening to and understanding what your body is telling you!

I have found that trying to work out whether you're genuinely hungry or bored is difficult to start with if you're used to just eating whenever!. The best way to get round this is see if the feeling passes in about 5 minutes!. If it doesn't, then drink a glass of water!. The feeling of being thirsty is so close to the feeling of being hungry that some people have a hard time differentiating between the two! Drink a glass of water, it wil help!

Also, never let yourself get TOO hungry, as this can lead to over-eating!. And when you sit down to a meal, eat slowly and chew properly!. There is a time delay between putting the food in your mouth and it getting to your stomach, so you won't know whether you've had enough immediately - it's best to eat slowly, that way you give your body time to register the food and tell you when you've had enough!.

I hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com
