Can anybody tell me how the lap band surgery works? I'm considering having it & i want to know everything i can about it before deciding. Need good adivice & opinions please.

Lap band is safer than gastric bypass.
Things to consider-
You need counseling to deal with your food addiction. It is likely that you addiction will transfer to another like drinking or shopping with out proper counseling.
The band can slip and lead to more surgery possibly.
Eating will be a hit and miss, painful experience for a while. You might feel nauseous, throw up etc.
You need to work on your eating habits BEFORE you get the surgery. You can have it done, lose weight and then gain it all back. It happens this way allot. Go to a Nutritionist.
I think it can be a useful surgery but, you need to take precautions. Make sure you go to a place that deals with your entire problem. This is not a quick fix. You need to mentally prepare for it. It is not going to be an easy road.
