Question: Losing 2 lbs per week!?!?!?
Why is it best to only lose 2 lbs per week!? Is this the case for men as well as women!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

- marked fluid depletion/gain, or
- serious pathology (such as a cancer)

if you want to lose fat, then it can only occur at a certain rate!. if you find urself losing more weight than that, chances are ur keeping urself dehydrated (either intentionally, or unintentionally), which is not healthy at all!.

This is why any magic diet/exercise plan which claims u will lose massive amounts of weight within a week are usually bogus, because u are just losing water, which u put back on within 1 or 2 days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's healthier for both and women to lose weight gradually!. Losing it quickly or gaining it quickly can screw up your metabolism and make it extremely harder to lose weight in your later years!. It's also unhealthy on your organs, like your heart, to cope with such a drastic change in your body!.

It's also easier to maintain healthy eating habits and exercise if you do it gradually!. If you make a dramatic change in your lifestyle you're more likely to give up after some time and go back to your bad eating habits!.

Another reason, is loose skin!. If you lose a large amount of weight in a short amount of time, for example, getting gastric bypass surgery, the skin won't be able to catch up with the loss of fat in one's body!. Skin shrinks a lot slower than body fat does and thus, most patients wind up having a lot of loose skin after such extreme surgeries!.

Ok, in order for the body to lose weight efficiently, it must burn calories in the following order:
1!. carbohydrates
2!. fats
3!. proteins

If you take in more calories than you burn up, you will not lose weight!.
The body can ONLY burn up about 2 lbs of carbohyrates and fats per day without starting to get into the proteins!. When you start burning proteins from your body it can be compared to tearing the bricks off of a house!. Proteins are the building blocks of your body!. You don't want to get into that type of weight loss because you can cause an array of health problems because you'll be tearing down proteins from the heart, the liver, the lungs, the muscles, the kidneys, etc!. rather than burning the carbs and fats that are stored in your butt, thighs, gut and back!. So, to simplify, the body cannot efficiently burn more than two pounds per day without getting into the direct muscle deterioration!. This is the reason that all health experts tell you not to burn more than a couple of pounds per day!. In some diets, you'll lose a bit more than two pounds per day during the first week to two weeks!. This type of loss is caused by both the burning of carbs and fats and the reduction of body fluids!. After the initial part of the diet where your excess fluids are diminished, the weight loss slows down substantially!. It is VERY difficult to actually lose more than two pounds per day consistently unless you've got some type of disease!.

I honestly tossed that out the window!.!.!.!. If you are a large person such as myself (5'5 and 213 lbs) then losing more than that I dont believe can hurt Im not a doctor but I can tell you ive lost 4 pounds per week by sticking to the Protein Power Plan diet (sort of like Atkins/south beach) and exercising!. I feel the best Ive felt in my life and all Ive done is cut out carbs, increased veggie intake, decreased fruit intake, and increased water consumption!. I guess my answer wont be chosen as best cuz really i didnt truly answer your question!.!.!.!.!.!. but if you're trying to lose weight as long as your doing it the right way i think you shouldnt worry about 2 lbs per week, go it at your pace!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

loosing less weight per week allows one to keep it off!. Loosing a lot of weight in a short time is called a crash diet and you tend to gain it back!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
