Question: How do you conquer being an "emotional eater"!?
Answers:
By keeping track of it first thing!. I wrote down each and every time I ate and what I ate at which event--it turned out that when I was upset I was just eating anything whereas when I was in emotional distress I resorted to sweets!.
Next, I developed a few new habits-when something happened(and something always happened with 2 kids to raise), I dug out the broom and the dust pan and went about swinging them(cleaning house)when the situation had somewhat settled(usually when the kids were asleep)!. I had to consciously remind me to go about doing something positive when I got ready to hit the fridge!. It is pretty much a habit now, but don't expect that to work in a couple of weeks---that will take a lot of effort, self disciplin and conscious action on your part!.!.!.!.!.P!.S!. you don't have to clean house---you can pick any task you like doing--exercising, sewing, whatever--the point is that you seek positive action instead of giving in to comfort!.!.!.because that's what it is: food is comfort!!!Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

you need to address the emotional eating triggers while you make changes to your diet!. the majority of people that are emotional eaters consume a lot of processed carbs!. these actual have a very negative effect on the endocrine system and make depression and anxiety worst, it's a viscous cycle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If you eat when you're sad or depressed, than find something else that brings you pleasure!. It might be something simple like going out to a movie, or hanging out with friends!. If you eat when you're sad, then you feel even worse later for eating, so do something good for yourself, like taking a walk!.
Talk to someone about how you feel, or write it down!. Maybe look into seeing a therapist!. There isn't 1 person out there who wouldn't benefit from seeing a professional and talking about their life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That's not good especially if you gain weight fast!.!.!.!.!. try to exercise when you get emotional or eat healthy if you are going to do that at least!.!.!.!. tear a carrot or an apple up!.!.!.!.or talk about your problem or write "TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY AND IT WILL BE BETTER ANYWAY!" Until you feel better!!! I smoke so I know it probably won't be easy, but try at least!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Find another thing that makes you happy!.!.!.maybe walk your dog or listen to music!. Stay clear of food when you feel sad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
