Grippers are one of the easiest ways to get hand strength!. You might buy one light and one heavy, and do three sets of 10-12 reps, with the heavy set in the middle!. I tend to like to squeeze them in and try to hold them for five seconds or so, then let them back out for a second!. This seems to give me more "feedback" than just wrenching them around as fast as possible!.

You can also use dumbells!. Place your forearms on your thighs, so that your hand hangs over your knee, with your palms down!. Allow your wrist to bend downward for a second, then tighten your forearm muscles and bring the back of your hand up for a second!. Do a set or two for each arm!.

Then, hang your arm straight toward the floor, with your tricep leaning against your inner thigh, like you were going to do a concentration curl!. With a dumbell, slowly open your hand until only the tips of your curled fingers hold the dumbell, then close your hand again!. Once you've closed all the way flex your inner forearm muscle and bring your palm up toward your forearm for a second!. Release slowly to the fingertips again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

G'day mate!. I got my left hand caught in the lift-gear on the back of a heavy vehicle recovery truck i was operating four years ago, result, a very badly broken hand, lots of crush injury to tissues, & broken bones with fingers pointing to all points of the compass!. I had to have reconstructive surgery (not much fun!!), with pins & screws!. It took quite a while to heal the fractures, which caused me a whole heap of anxiety due to the fact that I'm a musician!.!.!.!.I thought at the time that I'd never play again!.
The physio therapy was excrutiating at first, but i gained mobility slowly as the thing began to heal!. I found (much indeed to the physios' surprise) that if i spent an hour or so at a time playing scales, then it began to loosen up, & after a while, it was gaining strength!. I play guitar, mandolin, bass & fiddle, & i found that by swapping instruments to play the scales on each, it slowly came good!! The physio was most impressed, & after a while i got all of the mobility back into it!.!. The fingers are still a bit crooked looking, that will never go away, they've been broken, but they work fine, & I can play as well as i could before i broke them!.
Get yourself a cheap guitar & a scale book & do some scale excersises!.!.!.!.best thing in the world for building up finger & hand strength, & you'll impress all your mates with how well you can play after a while!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
