Would a beginners weight training class be good for me?
I'm a senior in college who is looking to get into shape before graduation next year. In order to do this I have signed up for a walk/jog cardio course and a beginner's weight training course. I'm a little pudgy and was wondering if taking the weight training class would benifit me. Should one be fit before lifting weights?

provided the instructors know what they're doing then absolutely! as you start to lose weight, doing the muscle exercises will make you more 'toned'. so basically you're killing two birds at the same time. :P
