Answers:
Trust me on this!. I've taken many nutrition classes and lost 50 pounds in 6 months and have kept it off for years!. It's impossible to teach you everything I've learned in this little answer box, so I'll just simplify it as best I can!.

#1 Drink water! First of all, your mind has a hard time knowing the difference between hunger and thirst until you are 2% dehydrated!. So when you're looking through a pantry for a snack, its often because you're actually thirsty!. It's also an appetite suppressant, and every time you drink water instead of soda or lemonade, you're not downing an entire cup of sugar and carbs with it!. Just be sure to drink water often throughout the day!.

#2 Apples, though not necessarily low in carbs, they keep you full for longer than other foods!. Its a good rule of thumb that the less a food is messed with, the healthier it is!. For example, apple juice is better than punch, apple sauce is better than juice, and an apple is better than apple sauce!. Get it!? Gum also gives you something to chew and taste that doesn't give you tons of extra carbs either!.

#3 Read food labels! The more you do, the more you'll learn what is considered high or low concerning fat, sugars, carbs, and protein!.

#4 Exercise!. When people ask me what's more important, diet or exercise, its like asking which wing would you rather have when flying a plane!. You need both!. Great tip: if you jog lightly for 20 min before you eat in the morning, you burn 3 times more fat than if you run later on in the day after you eat!. Then take a shower and get ready before you have breakfast, because the fat continues to burn for another hour!. A quick ab workout is ideal after you run since your core is already a little cut up from running!. (don't run too hard, it should be enjoyable!. You should never be so out of breath that you can't keep a normal conversation with someone)

#5 Remember, its not a diet!. Its a change of lifestyle and the way you think!. There is no such thing as a quick fix!. Be patient and CONSISTANT!. Those are the key words!. And if you do it easy, then you'll never get burned out and you'll do it for the rest of your life!.

That's the best I can give you for now!. If you ever get the chance, take a nutrition class, and/or get an exercise trainer!.
Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Make sure you're getting enough protein!.

I'm insulin resistant (i!.e!. diabetic), and eating carbs all day, even if I stay within the proper calorie range, makes me gain weight!. My body can't handle carbs, and it's said that many people (1 in 3 Americans) are insulin resistant and don't even realize it!. I can't even eat Kashi cereal!. I tried, and it was so good, but my blood sugar went crazy!.

I would advocate a low-carb diet, but I think people take "diets" the wrong way!. It should be a lifestyle change, not a temporary change, otherwise you're likely to just gain all the weight back!. So, to get around this, I think people should just focus on getting extra protein!.

Here's a great list to get you started:

That site has awesome nutritional advice, and I highly recommend you browse their articles!.

Also, with the extra protein, you can be on your way to gaining some muscle!. Muscle is a great way to burn extra fat as it increases your resting metabolic rate!. I get fantastic results just through doing strength training!. Cardio is like icing on the cake!. It speeds up fat loss by helping you burn extra calories!. So, incorporate some weight training, and make sure you're getting enough cardio!.

What other advice can I give you!? Well, check labels, specifically the ingredients list, and try to avoid foods that contain added sugar or white flour (also called "enriched flour")!. Here's a good list to get you started on that:

Also, if the ingredients lists a hydrogenated oil or partially-hydrogenated oil, avoid it!. Hydrogenated oils are another form of trans fat!.

And, finally, don't turn to those diet pills! They're crap, trust me!. My mother has tried all those things, and she doesn't look any skinnier to me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
