How to tone up?!

Question: How to tone up!?
Over the past couple months I have lost a good amount of weight, now I am pushing to get myself into better shape, and also lose a little more body fat around my stomach!. I do not want to lose anymore weight, so I need to build muscle!. Other than lifting weights what do you suggest!? I am looking to start swimming, will swimming help tone me up and build muscle, if so how often and how much should I swim!.

ThanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Swimming is a great idea! start by a swimming session like this:
>20 lap freestyle warm up
>4 laps of each stroke

you can increase the warm up length up to 50 if you want
if you can swim the other strokes to a competent ability you can try using drills and other swim equipment!.

you can do pushups, which will help build tone in arms and (not generally known) back and ab muscles!. Start by doing 20 a day, and increase by one every day up to about 60 a day!.
if you can, install a chin-up bar on your wall and do chin-ups on it whenever you go past it!.

good luck, hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Swimming is great for toning your muscles as it works more of them than any other aerobic exercise!. It is also the best for cardio-pulmonary fitness!. Beware though, it is an aerobic exercise, you will not build significant muscle!. One of the best swimmers on my team weighed about 110 pounds at 5'6'' in high school!.

As far as how much to swim, do what you can!. When you first start, it will be ridiculously hard, I promise!. Just try to swim as continuously as possible for an hour!. Later, try to get up to swimming at least a mile or two every other day and you will consistently feel better!. Go swimming too little, and you will feel really bad every time you jump in and try to work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
