Toning ideas? i'm desperate!!?

Ok i know i asked i similar question not long ago.. but i'd like to rephrase it.. instead of losing weight in particular for the sake of it, im looking toward toning up my middle section. Its become pretty out of control lately and as much as i hate to admit, am comparing to many other average girls my age who are pretty toned and don't have huge hips like me. I know its about "becoming a women".. but im so flabby in the butt and thigh area that i can't even wear a bikini, im scared for my future... and can't really ask my parents as they just tease me, seriously ive got the new nickname "baby bum-bum"!! its awful, and im not happy with the way im eating either. What can i do?

(p.s i already dance 3x a week, go for an hr walk/jog most days and am considering joining the local gym.)

less cardio - since it has a tendency to make you flabby especially when your not eating enough protein and on a high carb diet. Add some weights or do any form of resistance training that'll really help build up muscle. Muscle is good its the most metabolically active tissue in the body and takes more calories to maintain. You dont need to be afraid of muscle if your a girl since women dont have enough testosterone to actually look like Arnold, in fact alot of female fitness models you see on magazines actually do weights - heavy weights and moderate cardio. Eat right - good carbs, lean protein sources, and clean good fat. No junk and sugar.
