Muscle building question?

i know u have to do high weight low reps (like 8 reps max) but how many sets do you do? I am so confused. Some people say 1 set is enough and some say 3.


Answers:

How long have you been working out? If it's all new, start with 1 to 2 sets. After a couple months you will want to do 3 sets with 3 excercises per body part. You'll have to change up your sets, reps and excercises every 6 - 8 weeks though, otherwise you will not get the full benefit of your workouts. You need to change things up so your muslces don't get used to the same workout day after day. You need to take the muscles to near fatigue, without over loading. You don't want to hurt yourself, but you do need to push your body.
