What happens if I don't consume enough calories?!

Question: What happens if I don't consume enough calories!?
I'm currently 6'1", 187 pounds, slightly (and by slightly I mean barely) overweight!. I'm trying to reduce my body fat within the next to months to get rid of some annoying fat on my chest, stomach, and neck!. I am currently following a book on High Intensity Training in order to shape up by building extra muscle and losing fat!.

In this book I am instructed to go on a 1,500 calorie diet per day for two weeks!. I have been doing this every day, maybe going slightly over on some days (like, 1600 or 1700), for the past five or so days, followed by rigorous workouts!. I usually get hungry throughout the day but it doesn't last long!. However, after researching online, my recommended calorie intake was 2,500 calories!.

I am wondering what my low calorie diet will affect, and should I continue going on this diet!? My goal overall is to gain a good amount of muscle and lose whats left of my visible body fat in the next two months!. Any advice is appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

nothing bad will happen if you don't consume enough calories, unless you are still doing your rigorous work outs, a lot of people do low carb some do it to the extreme(i do not suggest doing this) but it doesn't hurt them because they take vitamins and they exercise daily!. but as long as you dont go down to like 30 calories a day you should be fine!.
ok here's my advice why don't you lose the weight first, just make that your number one goal, losing weight is simple stay on the 1500 calorie diet because it is cut in half from what the normal american eats, so if you lose the weight first you can count carbs or calories either way you'll lose weight, to help you lose the weight do some walking or some jogging, but try to hold off on the rigurous workouts!.!.!.then after you've lost the amount of weight you want to lose!.!.!.then begin building muscle that way your body isn't pulled in two different directions, remember muscle weighs too!.!.!.so if you think you're not losing weight but you're gaining muscle you might get that confused with losing the weight and gaining the muscle, so good luck :DWww@Answer-Health@Com

No, no, no! You've got it all wrong! Back a couple years ago when I was an athlete, I ate much more calories (about 3500/day)!. The secret is not in the amount of calories, it's where they come from and how much you exercise!. You want under 20% of the calories to come from fat and you want to exercise enough to burn away the excess!. Right now, for example, I'm 35 lbs overweight because I haven't ruduced my eating level from my active years and have stopped exercising!. Sure I'm still eating healthily, but the weight sticks to me cause I don't exercise it off anymore!. You want to up your calories, but I'd recommend doing it by way of energy bars or protein powder so you don't become addicted to the food like I did!. Remember, up your calories and EXERCISE away the excess!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
