Losing the last 5 pounds.?!

Question:

Losing the last 5 pounds.?

I currently work out about 4-5 days a week. I usually do about 30 min cardio, and 20 min weight training. Im having a hard time losing the 5 pounds I gained. I seemed toner, but for some reason, the scale won't budge. Should I increase my Cardio to lose the rest of the 5 lbs or should I lift more weights? My diet is about the same, between 1200-1600 calories a day. What do you all think? Please give me some ideas. Thanks all!

Answers:

If you are getting more toned and leaner, then you are gaining muscle, so you are probably losing that last 5 pounds of fat, and replacing the weight with muscle. In other words, your clothes should be fitting better. Things are on track.

If you want to push things to lose the fat faster, then increase the cardio to 45 min, 4 times a week, in the morning, on an empty stomach, if possible.

Continue with weight lifting 3 times a week. ... Which means you could work out only 4 days a week, if you do cardio in the morn, and weights in the evening.

Try to decrease your calories by about 10% (don't starve yourself), and eat clean whole food.

For two weeks, you can try to cut out starch - no rice, bread, potatoes- cut out diary, and eat 6 small meals a day of 3 -4 oz of fish or chicken, and lots of veggies. Then, after two weeks, see where you stand.

If you've lost the 5 pounds, but your energy is bad, then add more carbs - whole brown rice, sweet potatoes.

Also, Omega-3 Fish oil is good.
