Unnatural to eat every 3-4 hours....?!

Question: Unnatural to eat every 3-4 hours!.!.!.!.!?
Im doubting whether its natural to eat every 3-4 hours!.!.!.like the say with the 6 small meals a day thing!.

When we evolved, surely we weren't basically eating ALL day!.!.!.!.i'm sure if we couldn't find food, then we go for Hours/half a day without food!.!.!. and this would happen on a regular basis!.

And eating 6 small meals a day, means you're digesting basically ALL day!. That's uncomfortable!.

Who decided eating 6 times in a day was best!?!?!? I think its absurd!.

AND i don't believe the whole glucose needs to be refueled every 3-4 hours thing!. I studied physiology fr 3 years!. Our bodies are designed to supply our own glucose after we run out of energy thats what the liver is for!.!.!.thats why we store fat!.

I just think its unnatural to keep stoking it with energy from food every few hours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
i think that is just bs
eat when ur hungry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

who decided!?!? how about doctors, dieticians, nutritionists, etc!.

you can believe what you want, but eating 5-6 meals a day is NOT uncomfortable!.!.!.!.thats exactly why you eat smaller meals each time, so as to not feel "full" after each meal, and hence, uncomfortable!.

the "idea" of eating 5-6 smaller meals a day as apposed to 2-3 "big" meals each day is so that your body is constantly working, or as you said, digesting, which in turn speeds up your metabolism and helps you lose fat!.

it may not be "natural" to you, but it certainly is very natural to millions of people who do it everyday!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well i really do eat around 6 meals a day!. That's just my natural diet!. If you don't eat a huge meal in the morning chances are you going to get hungry in the next few hours!. You don't have to study physiology to know that!. Who cares whether is natural or not, its whether its healthy or not!. And for now my diet is working for me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it keeps you metabolism working in high gear!. the longer you go without food, the more it slows down!. plus there is the whole issue that if u starve yourself too long you will get so hungry and binge, which is gonna make u overeat!.!.!.would u rather overeat on a slow metabolism or eat the right amount on a fast one!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are eating 5-6 SMALL meals a day, it should not be uncomfortable!. And what makes you think that before modern times we were eating 3 times a day, or whatever!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not for everybody eating like that but if you want a nice looking body thats the way to go!. It keeps your metoblism going and burning fat all day long!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Six meals a day plan is effective for diabetes control but it requires lot of will power to keep tab on the food intake!.

Eat well but only when hungry and not more than thrice a day!. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%!. To have more satisfaction out of ur food, Chew each morsel at least 32 times!. This will also activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness!. Obey these signals!. Do not go on fast or starvation diet!.

Nothing other than water in between!.

No special diet, call it by any name or program helps as one cannot adopt them on permanent basis!. Diet pills are chemicals and per se bad and shud be avoided unless the doc considers it necessary looking at ur condition!.

Take light exercises and brisk walks for 30 min!.regularly preferably on empty stomach and twice a day!. Do not overdo!.

U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time and hassle free!.

Be patient and not in a hurry!.

U cannot choose spots for reduction!.

This schedule can be adopted on permanent basis to lead a healthy life and maintain weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have not done your research !. You are NOT eating all day LOL ! I eat every 3 hours and DONT gorge myself !. I started doing this 3 yrs ago when I first competed at the age of 39 and with doing so and hard training I went from 26% b/f to a stable 14% b/f and have kept it this way ever since !. I'm currently 27 wks pregnant so I KNOW my b/f is higher !. Just to give you an example this is what I ate pre-pregnancy and you can judge to see if I'm eating too much LOL !.

1- 1/2 cup oatmeal - 6 egg whites and yolk - cup of broc
2- protein shake - fruit
3- salad with chicken - 1/2 cup brown rice
4- 1/2 cup oatmeal w/ 1/2 tablespoon natural pb
5- lean protein , veggie , small salad
6- 1/2 cup cottage cheese

I have low blood sugar too so this keeps me regulated and keeps my metalbolism going ! I look WAY better in my early 40's than I did in my 20's by far !!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The human body is amazing at adapting to whatever situation you present it!. The reason they say to eat meals every 3-4 hours is that from the time your body takes in nutrients, the liver converts it to glycogen (usable energy for the muscles), and then the blood absorbs the glycogen, it takes approximately 3-4 hours!. The theory is that as soon as your body is done creating and restoring depleted muscle energy, it is ready to take in more nutrients in preparation to restore more muscle energy!.

Here is why it is way less healthy to eat fewer larger meals!. When you take in food, your body converts the sugars into glucose, which is the only usable form of simple sugar for the body!. The glucose is then absorbed by the blood cells, thus restoring the blood sugar to normal levels!. However, if there is more glucose than necessary to restore blood sugar levels, the body must do something to eliminate the extra glucose from the bloodstream!. The pancreas releases insulin, which attaches to the extra glucose and then heads to replenish depleted muscle cell energy!. After all of the muscle tissue has rebuilt its glucose capacity, the insulin glucose travels to the liver, which can only contain about 300-400 calories of the sugar!. After the liver has stored its capacity, all leftover sugar goes to be stored in adipose tissue as body fat!. Unlike the muscles and liver, which have limits to the amount of sugar they can hold for a short term, fat cells do not have a limit to how much sugar they can hold!.

This process is complicated, but hopefully it explains why it is important for the body to take in sugars in moderate, but steady amounts!. If the body is not depleted of energy, it is clear that the glucose will go directly to be stored in fat cells!.

You never want to "shock" your body with an amount of glucose that is too much for immediate storage in your blood, muscle cells, and liver!.

I hope this helped a little bit, I apologize for the lengthy response!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The problem with fitness in today's media is that for every tip out there, there is another saying to do the opposite!. We are, as individuals, all physiologically different; and there are outside factors as well that figure into your meal frequency and calorie intake!. For instance I eat three large meals a day!. My callorie intake exceeds 2500 a day (the recommended intake being 1800-2000), but I eat relatively healthy, and being in the Army I stay physically active!. I am in good shape!. On the other hand, a friend of mine is a marathon runner she is a firm believer in the 6-meal-a-day plan!.

As for the glucose deal, I've never even heard of that, so I can't help you there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
