Question: I am addicted to junk food, PLEASE HELP!!!!!?
I gave up smoking 6 months ago, having been a smoker for about 15 years, i thought it was going to be the toughest thing ever, but I gave up quite easily, and the cravings were minimal!. I am about 4 stone overweight and am desperate to lose weight, but I am addicted to junk food, i really try to say no, but can only compare the cravings I get to those of a drug addict, they drive me insane until I give in, and then the guilt sets in!. I have just ordered Hoodia off the internet, not sure whether this is a good idea or not, can anyone give me some more advice!. I don't need anyone to tell me that pills are a bad idea, I do realise this, but I am at my wits end!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Unfortunately packing in smoking makes EVERYONE put on weight (FACT)!! I have just managed to kick the junk food habit after YEARS of abuse there!! i have 1 fat day a week now Fridays normally!. How did i adjust!.!.!.Simply bouight all the healthy foods and didn't get the junk food stuffs in!. So if its not in the house you can't eat it! I look forward like hell to fridays!!
But i gottta admit im enjoying salmon salads now, never thought that would happen!?!? Try it 1 fat day a week or even 2/3 and aim for the 1 day!?!? hope this method helps you!?!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Seriously, you need to evaluate your life to your eating!.

Try a detox for a few weeks and when you see and feel the difference after 2 or 3 weeks it may give you the boost you need to get healthy again!.

It worked for me!.

i believe that addiction can only be conquered by another addiction!. so i suggest that instead of buying junk foods, why not buy fruits or vegetables instead!. fruits are delicious and nutritious!. it's not bad if it turns into addiction!. hehe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I want to lose weight I drink loads!. Not alcohol!. Lol Just orange squash or something like that!. I'll drink it constantly, when I've finished get another and then another!.
I just keep drinking!. I end up feeling quite bloated!.!.Well I don't think bloated's the word, just 'full' I suppose, and I need to go to the toilet alot!. (Which is why I do it in the evening when I'm at home - watching telly, which is when I'm most likely to snack)!.
That way I feel so full!. That I feel as though I just couldn't eat another thing!. Or I'd just be sick probably!.

junk food does not contain anything chemically addictive!.!.
when you go without junk food your body doesn't actually undergo any chemical changes or "state of cold turkey" as such!.!.!.

its more a case of I WANT IT over I NEED IT

you say you feel guilty afterwards so at least you have an emotion you can harness to your advantage!.!.!. what you want to do is try to capture this emotion in your imagination and relive it as fully as you can everytime you think you want to eat crap!.!.!. the idea is if you feel as bad as you do after you eat it before you eat it!.!.!. you wont eat it!

but we cant help you im afraid - only you can!.!.!.
there is no magical way to make you stop wanting to eat junk!.!.!. its a case of sucking it up and being determined!.!.!. after 1 week of hell your body will start adapt and cravings will get less!.!.!. 2 weeks even less up to a maximum of 6 weeks!.!. after 6 weeks your body should have adapted to your new regime and your will power will flourish

we all see cake and want to eat it - its being in control of yourself and having the ability to say no!.!.!. treats should be enjoyed as treats - you cant substitute proper balanced food to live off treats!.!.!.

if you are not determined and you are not committed then dont bother starting - because you will fail!.!.!.

you have to want it more than you want junk food!.!.!.
and when you realize this you will find it a walk in the park and will probably even enjoy the weight loss experience!.!.!.

nothing makes us feel better than dropping a clothes size or a stone on the scales - but if you dont put in the effort you will never get the benefits and your stuck with negative guilty emotions!.!.!.

if you cant do it by yourself join a weight class such as weightwatchers - with people around you losing weight your less likely to give up - because then your letting your new slimming friends down as well as yourselfWww@Answer-Health@Com

This is really too bad - It's funny that the government allows this garbage to be sold - it's like selling heroine on the street corner!.

The only thing I've ever found that was a help was protein!. There's several people who have developed diets where proteins and fats are the main things you eat - no carbohydrates!. That's Atkins ("New Diet Revolution") and somebody else wrote "Protein Power" - and somebody else wrote "Carbohydrate Addict's Diet"!.

Anyway - all these books you can get used off of Amazon for about nothing and they make some very interesting reading!.

If you're overweight and hungry, you're producing too much insulin - and in the view of some, you are on the road to diabetes!. You must learn to eat foods which don't make the body produce this insulin!. Some say that insulin is "the hunger hormone"!. The more you produce, the hungrier you are for that second helping!.

One day medical science might understand why some of us are overweight - and perhaps there will be some simple fix (as now they tie the top of the stomach) - but until then you got to figure it out by yourself - takes some study and watching your own body react to proper food instead of MacDonald garbage!.

move in small steps and plan what you eat!. be persistant and remind yourself of your goals!. imagine where you want to be and get there!.

Write down on paper your goals ie I will not eat as much and stick them places around the house, next to junk foods etc

look for healthier foods with similar taste to replace them!.

have set days where do not allow yourself to eat any junk food to get used to copping with days without it!.

it takes mental strength but you can do it! join a gym and exercise or if you don't have the time go for a run if you want to loose weight!. only one that can do it is you and you can if you believe you can! surround yourself with people with similar aims that will support you to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
