Are these weights too big?

I have been working out with 5lb weights for a while and I would like to start working out with some heavier ones because the 5lbs arent doing it for me anymore... i am 5'11 and weigh around 150 and I want to lose weight and not bulk up... whats the heaviest weights can I use to slim down?


Answers:

Being that your body doesn't produce nearly as much testosterone as a man's it is really hard for you to gain a substantial amount of muscle weight. 10lbs is a good all around weight for burning fat on arms. Running is good for thighs and calfs. My personal favorite is the side arm bend for love handles. I like to use 25lb dumbells for that. And when you do crunches...hold a 10lb weight to your chest. It increases resistance and helps you burn more calories with fewer reps. Good luck.
