Fat People today (what if they lived 50 years ago)?!

Question: Fat People today (what if they lived 50 years ago)!?
I am seeing more and more really fat people out there!. I am not talking about pleasantly plump but really fat!. Like 300-400 pounds!.

Most of the really fat people who I know tell me they do not eat much and are fat because they have a slow metabolism!. Yaha sure!

50 years ago there were very few people who were 400 pounds!. What if these same people with the same family genes and slow metabolism, lived in the 1950s, would they be so fat!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I completely agree with you but Im not against fat people in general!. Just like in todays news they found out the eating places like Chilis and Macaroni grill and On the Border were lying about calories in the food on their diet menu!. I also think in general people do not realize how many calories they are eating!. I had no idea that a mexican meal at any eating place usually has 2700 calories in it , if your eating at a nice dining place!.

Of course their metabolism is slow because they drink energy drinks , soda (even diet) , and think one candy bar a day is okay!. My ex mother in law used to treat herself to a Wendys frostie everyday on her way home from work!. And she was a nurse!

Somewhere along the line food became a way to comfort ones self and because of fast food and fine dining people are filling their faces because they think it is a reward to eat out!. !.!.!. lets not even talk about buffets and the people that load up 5 or 6 plates!.!.!. whole families doing it (and then they say there is a genetic problem) The only problem most people have is blood sugars that they arent controling thus making them crave foods and lack of exercise!.!.!.!.well that and fork in mouth disease!.

We have a rule in my house!.!.!. we dont go out to eat at any place where an obease family would walk in to eat!. !.!.!.cut our places way back!.

I hate to tell you but there are a lot of fat people walking around that were alive back in the 50s!. What has happened is that they dont move, tv is watched because people feel they cannot live the life they see on tv for the most part!.!.!. and they have bought into all the toxic foods being sold for a mtter of conveince!.

Im finding that there are entire generations of people that have no idea how things used to be because they have lived this kind of life for so long there was no one to pass the information on to them!. Eat less, move more! Be aware of living healthy and not just living!Www@Answer-Health@Com

people back then couldn't afford to be lazy and appreciated the value of food enough to eat it without stuffing themselves!. slow metabolism is a really bad excuse because typically, the more you weigh, the higher your basal metabolic rate! So if you want to get technical, fat people burn calories a lot easier than thin people!. They just keep eating!!!!!!! people like that honestly seem like a waste of space, air, and resources!. if they didn't contribute to the economy so much by buying so much food, the government would probably exterminate them!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They have a slow metabolism because they're not eating properly and they're not exercising properly!. It has nothing to do with genetics 95% of the time!.

Very sad really!. Especially when it's kids and teens!.

I'm thinking of dedicating a part of my website to kids and teens and weight loss!. I think there's a desperate need because they only have their overweight parents as role models so what hope have they got otherwise!?

Foods these days are processed and full of trans fats and sugar, so no, they wouldn't be so fat in the 50's!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is probably true that many people use "slow metabolism" as an excuse for unwanted weight; however some actually do suffer from medical conditions that will cause this!. Hypo-thyroid ism and Fibromyalgia are just two of those conditions!.

I believe that fifty years ago!.!.!.!.we did not have the enormous choices of snack foods we have today!.!.!.!.we did not have a tv in every room!.!.!.!.!.a computer!.!.!.!.game boys!.!.!.!.etc!. We as a people lived a much more active lifestyle!.!.!.!.and we were healthier!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the so called "obesity" epidemic in the US is being directly caused by people following diets high in heavily processed foods that are high in calories combined with a sedentary lifestyle!. the human genome has not changed only the foods that people consume on a regular basis and the amounts of energy that they expend daily!. only 15% of the US population gets regular exercise, yet everyone knows they should exercise daily!. a simple walk around any supermarkets tells you that food choices that the majority of people make!. company's would not be producing all of the processed foods that you see if people weren't buying them!. processed foods outnumber whole food items by about 20:1

in general it seems like nobody wants to take responsibility for their own actions anymore, it's always somebody else's fault!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't believe when people that are over 300lbs get it genetically!. However, I do think that some people get genetics of being the pleasantly plump/chubby types!. Our society is so much different now and fast food is our main sources of food!. So no, these people would not be so fat in the 1950s!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The 1960's was hard time for fat people because they were usually made fun of, left out from regular society, or either ignored , in the 50's they didn't have people who were 400 pounds because they ate home-cooked meals!. McDonald's
and other fast food restraunts weren't invented till the 1960's
lolz!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

im thirteen and their is a boy in my clas that is 210 pounnds!. i odnt think it is normall!. but it is just the excuse nowawadays!. i mean cmon i have a slow metabolism and i dont eat alot and i am 95 pounds!. and look at the food theyre is now the amount of oil in the food the calories and people just dont careWww@Answer-Health@Com

Nope!. Back 50 years ago, manual labor was very common!. People didn't sit at a desk all day long!. Also, there were alwasy home-cooked meals- not fast food!. People just eat fattier foods and get less excersiseWww@Answer-Health@Com
