Self Image?!


Question: Self Image!?
For the last 2 years I've been gaining a few pounds here and there!. It is starting to take a toll on me because I no longer find myself attractive, Im 5'7 158 pounds I use to be 139 and loved myself now I look in the mirror and say yuck! But the real problem is Im always so stressed out so I eat and I jus dont know how to stop it!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Here are a few tips, hopefully they'll help!.

Keep a food journal!.
Before eating something, force yourself to write down what you'll be eating in your journal!. This simple act will cause you to stop and think before stuffing that piece of chocolate cake in your mouth!. A food journal gives you a sense of accountability!.

Find more constructive ways to handle stress!.
If you want to stop stress eating, it's important to come up with better ways to handle tension!. Take a class or read a book on yoga or meditation and discover healthier ways to cope with stress than by using food!.

Start exercising!.
Exercising is one the most effective stress relievers there is!. When you feel your stress levels rise and you feel compelled to go to the refrigerator, take a brisk walk instead!.

Use aromatherapy!.
When you feel yourself becoming tense, use the power of aromatherapy for relaxation!. Try smelling the soothing scent of lavender essential oil to help calm overactive nerves!. Mix a few drops of lavender oil with water in a spray bottle and spray it into the air when you start to feel tense!. Breathe deeply and feel yourself relax!. The scent may also reduce your urge to head for the refrigerator!.

Play new age music for relaxation!.
Play peaceful, new age music in the background as you carry out your daily activities!. This can reduce your level of anxiety and help stop stress eating!.

Chew sugarless gum!.
When you start to feel stressed out and want to head for the refrigerator, pop a piece of sugarless gum instead!.

you just have to find something else to occupy yourself when youre stressed!. maybe running, walking, reading, listening to music, talking to someone (yes your dog counts!), gardening, yoga, cleaning, shopping (be careful with that one tho), driving (also not as practical with $4 a gallon gas), biking, !.!.!. you'll find the right verb for you! also don't binge eat (easier said than done) because it'll make you very heavy!. i hope you can lose the weight!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I plan my meals ahead of time!. A small protein and fruit for breakfast, maybe some oatmeal!.

A small lunch of protein and vegetables for lunch!.

Same for dinner!.

I'm going to continue having a glass of red wine before bed, because, dammit, I like it!!!! Oops sorry couldn't resist!

That's it!. I think of all the starving people out there, especially the children, and really I have no desire to overeat-----lost my sweet tooth, just want to get healthy!.

I started Yoga, and I'm already making progess stretching in just a few short weeks!.

But surpirsingly, I don't care how I look anymore!. We all get old!. People are so shallow!. The media is absolutely cruel to some celebrities!. This is my silent protest to all the shallowness going on with humans!. Yoga instructer said this would happen!. You will become more clear in mind as well as in the body!.

I still like to get dressed up and go out for a night on the town and see a movie!. But I do all that for me, not to impress anyone!.

With age comes wisdom-----------just think how much suffering would be relieved with Demi Moore's money she spent on plastic surgery!. You could feed a small country with that!

If you can learn to eat right and excercise, then you'll know you are doing the best you can-------somehow flaws don't seem so noticeable!.

Also, for exercise, I am up to 60 minutes on the recumbant bike!. In just a few short months, I've made so much progress!!!!!

No seriously!.!.!.!.!.!.you say you are stressed!.!.!.!.!.!.!.so you eat!.!.!.!.!.!.!.so the solution lies in being less STRESSED then right!?

so try activities that take you away from chances of eating!.!.!.!.!.!.

walking, exercising!.!.!.!.!.!.!.being involved in some activity!.!.!.!.

lots of people when stressed try passive things!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.like watching tv, or listening to music, while sitting on their butts, snarfing Doritoes!.

That is NOT the way to lose weight!.

Ya have to be ACTIVE!. Try gardening!.!.!.!.!.!.!.( I know it keeps me slim!.---I work my a** off!.!.!.!.!.but then, my "garden" is half a mountain!.!.!.!.!.!.)

walk your dog!.!.!.!.!.!.if don't have one!.!.!.!.!.get one!.

Just be active!.!.!.!.!.and stay clear of the snack foods!.!.!.!.!.!.!.or try healthy choices for snacks!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.like apples or cucumbers!.

Really!., it works!. There is no such thing as a Cookies and Doritoes diet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ive kind of got the same problem!. what ive been doing is first, instead of cuttin down on the amount of food im eating!. im just eating healthy food!. then eventually after i get used to only healthy food, im gonna start eating less and i plan for it to be gradaul!.!.!.but hopefully will lose some weight!.!.!.good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
