A lifestyle change can help you lose 30 pounds and keep it off forever but once you lose 30 pound you have to eat like a person that weighs that or you will get back to where you are now. You have 3 options to lose 30 pounds or could use them all in combination.
1. Burn more calories - do this by more physical activity even if it is just 200 extra steps a day (burning 10 calories) still better than nothing
2. Eat less calories - do this by only eating 3 meals and 2 snacks and don't eat in front of the tv or computer and if you do decide measure out 1-2 portions and do not go back. You could also not get second helpings just try to lower your portion sizes and eat the same foods you do now.
3. substitute current foods you eat for ones with lower calories. Instead of getting a single cheese everything from wendy's get the kids meal or a regular hamburger. Try fat free dressing instead of regular and save lots of calories. Switch from regular pop to diet. Don't drink any calories unless it is coming from milk. Switch from 2% to 1% milk and save calories.
