i was actually having the exact same problem!!
i began to take a cardio-strength class that really helped with this and since then, i have stopped attending the class, and have started doing the moves on my own!.
these are the ones i have so much more effective than regular crunches or situps:
a!.) lie flat on your back, raise your head, and raise your legs off the floor in a 90 degree, table-top position!. slowly raise your arms over your head and then sweep them down along the floor in a circle and then bring them back down!. repeat this at least 16 times!. and then reverse it, so your arms cycle the opposite way!. remember that your abs have to work three times as hard when your arms are over your head!.
b!.) lie flat on your back and raise your head off the floor!. put one leg on the ground and grasp the other one at the ankle (or calf)!. hold it there for a few seconds, and then lower that leg almost to the ground and grasp your other ankle!. do this at least 16 times!.
c!.)lie flat on your back and raise your head off the floor!. bring your legs to a ninety degree, table-top position!. next point the toes of your right leg and extend that leg as far as you can!. bring it back and then repeat with your left leg!. repeat this for at least 16 times!.
i had been doing the conventional sit-ups and crunches for at least three years with minimal results!. when i began to do these excercises i was able to get noticeable abs in six weeks!
good luck!.:) (beach season is coming)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi, first of all you shouldn't really work them everyday, this could be why you are not seeing the 'full six pack'!. Your muscles do not grow whilst you are working them but in fact when you are resting, so you should only work them once a week to ensure they can recover and thus get stronger and more defined!.Your ab workout should probably consist of 4 main exercises; sit ups, leg lifts, crunches and oblique curls (whereby you go to perform a normal sit up but twist to the side at the top, alternating sides)!.
If you do this once a week, i can guarantee you that you will see an improvement; try doing 110 sit ups, if you have allowed your muscles time to recover, you will be able to increase your number and once again become more defined!.
One other thing i would say though is that your diet is just as important; a high quantity of protein increases your metabolism and with it helps define muscle areas, so you could possibly give this a go with it!.
Hope this helps you out and good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

crunches and sit-ups don't work at all, back when i was a sophomore i did 200 sit-ups and didn't get much but a mere image of a six pack!. go work out at the Y and see what they have to offer, or use the small ball exercise that allows you to contract and relax all your abdominals!. consume calories from good sources, and keep your work out session no more than 2 1/2 hours!.!.!.!.make up for what you burnWww@Answer-Health@Com
