Worried about my chubby hubby.?!

Question: Worried about my chubby hubby!.!?
My husband was always in great shape when we were dating, he was always working out, and since he lived with his grandmother she wouldn't let him eat junk!. Since we got married he gained a massive amount of weight, he looks like he's pregnant!. When we got married he had a size 32 waist now he's at a size 40!. All he will eat is take out, fast food, or junk!. He will not touch veggies, and barely eats fruit!. Does anyone have any suggestions, I don't want him to die of a heart attack!. I don't buy junk by the way he usually buys it on his way to work and eats that instead of the lunch I pack him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Megs, boy is this difficult!.

When I read your explanation, I was consumed with empathy (your pain in my heart)!.

Chances are your husband will feel the same if you explain thing to him!. Nothing you can do will help him to loose weight, the desire has to be his own!. Any persistent explaining will only cause a rift!.

As a Christian woman maybe I should not say this but, a tear can work wonders!.

Don't forget the power of prayer, Jehovah can do things we only dream about, and be specific, "Jehovah please make him loose weight" remember Jesus said to "keep asking"!.

When is his next general check-up!?

Talk to his doctor beforehand and get the doctor to cook up such a diagnosis that will make hubby *hate* junk food!.

Then once he has lost the weight and gotten used to the veggies, tell him it was a prank!.

Talk to him about how you are feeling!. That is the only way to make him aware of what he is doing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tell hubbie dearest that you are worried that he is lining himself up for a heart attack, and you love him too much to stand by and watch it happen!. As far as the nutritious lunch you pack him, as what the exact objection is!. Don't take it to heart if he says it just doesn't appeal to him, or it doesn't taste as good as the junk!. It probably doesn't, honestly!. That's the trouble with some very healthy diets!. They are either boring or the junk just tastes better!. Invest in some of the healthy options cookbooks- my current favorite is called "The Food We Eat", although the Cooking Light magazine also helps you find nice tasting alternatives or healthy ways to lighten favorite foods!. Sometimes it's a matter of lightening up foods you do like to eat, rather than denying yourself!. Also attack the stuff you cook at home, to be sure you are cutting out stuff where you can, to offset the hubbies junk calls!. I faced the same challenge with my hubbie for a while!. I worked with him to figure out ways to make lunches he could and would eat, that were good for him!. We made some compromises on some things, so he gets some of what he likes and wants, and I get some of the stuff he needs in there as well!. He still gets the sandwich he wants- but with light mayo on a white wheat bread, and a 2% milk slice of cheese, with a side of baked chips and a lower fat ranch dip (made with no fat yogurt, which he hasn't noticed!)!. He's not into fresh fruit like apple slices, but he will eat apple crisp!. Fine- I make that at home too- with Splenda baking blend, and oatmeal topping!. He gets a whole grain and the fruit, with less sugar than the junk out of the machines!. In the winter I make him soup, as he'll eat veggies in soup, and cream of anything!. The "cream of" is another fudge of mine- no cream, no milk involved there!. It's really water or broth and silken tofu- sometimes soy milk!. Spaghetti sauce can contain loads of veggies- and they never even suspect it!. So do meatballs, so all his pasta is actually loaded with veggies he never notices!. It just takes some imagination, and some willingness on both sides to find workable compromises!. After a while, he learns to like more of what's good for him, and is more willing to take a few more changes on!. Remember, just because it's healthy doesn't work if it doesn't taste good!. Oh, and fellows are a little like kids with the brown bag that screams "mom packed lunch"!. Cool lunch bags are a must!. Even better if there's a love note inside to be found!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
