I want to lose weight and go on a diet.?

I need to stay motivated. next week I start back at school so I will have access to a gym. I am worried about what others will think of me when I go to work out. What should I wear to work out in? I am 5'1" and weigh 187 lbs. I want to lose about 40lbs. I am a size 16 in pants. I want to be atleast an honest 10 or 12. I have about a medium frame. I have lots of fat on my thighs arms and stomach. What kind of exercise do i need to do to lose that.? and What kind of diet. I have started cutting back on eating out. I only drink cokes too. I was thinking of starting to to drink only water. Any other advice would be appreciated.


Answers:

Drinking only water is a good idea. It's hard at first if you are used to drinking coke but don't worry it will get better. You can never have too much water but you can with coke. Eat and drink healthier for now. As for what to wear to the gym, just wear a t shirt and shorts so it would be easy and comfortable to work out for the first time. You might not be used to tight jogging clothes so it could make you even more comfortable when working out or make you feel self conscious. Eat less fat and sweets and more fruits and vegetables.
