Is it more likely for "big-boned" persons to be overweight?!
Question: Is it more likely for "big-boned" persons to be overweight!?
I heard about the wrist test where if you can wrap your thumb and middle finger around your wrist and they touch, you are medium framed!. If they overlap, you are small framed!. If they don't touch you are large framed, or "big-boned"!. Is it more likely or the same likelyhood that small, medium, or large framed people are overweight!. If it is the same, why do people refer to all overweight people as being big-boned when they are not!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
Overweight by BMI standards perhaps, but that doesn't mean overfat as in a high body fat %!.
A small boned person might be overweight at a BMI of 23 and a larged bone person might be overweight at a BMI of 27!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's a cliche!. Fat people have used the "big-boned" excuse for years, and truth be told a few of them actually are big-boned!. I wish I could remember where I read it, but there's a simple test that measures the width of your elbow joint to determine whether or not you're big-boned!. I know for a fact that I am big-boned, but I don't let it be my excuse for being fat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
no dude you can be big boned and be really skinny
but fat people are all like i'm not fat i'm big boned because they don't want to have to deal with the fact that they are acutally fat and they jsut want to keep eating and stay that way
so yeah pretty much just because your big boned does not give you an excuse to be overwieghtWww@Answer-Health@Com

nope, there's no correlation - your bone size won't make you gain or lose weight! Usually overweight people like to just fall back on that as another excuse, just like an underactive thyroid or a slow metabolism!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I kind of noticed that large framed people have bigger wrist!. So, yeah!. Not "big boned", but a little fat is around thier wrist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
