Am I eating enough calories to lose weight?!

Question: Am I eating enough calories to lose weight!?
I've been counting my calories for the past 3 weeks as well as walking with weight 1 hour, 6-7 times a week!. I HAVE lost a FEW pounds but I'm not getting the results I had hoped for!. I am eating 5-6 small meals a day which is equaling out to be anywhere from 1600-1700 calories!. I have a naturally low metabolism so, I've been trying to figure out ways to boost it as well!. I drink lots of water and I feel like I'm doing everything right, but the weight is just not coming off!. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions!? Is there something I'm missing!? I'm getting married in a couple of months and I really need to lose some serious weight!. Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Don't try to lose too much weight to fast!. No more than 1 1/2 to 2 lbs per week!. Anything more than that is water weight and/or muscle, and you don't want to lose that! You want to lose fat weight!. You need cardio 4-5 times per week and keep your heart rate at a good workout level for about 20-30 minutes!. To boost your metabolism, you need to increase muscle mass!. Muscles require more energy just to "exist"!. You will burn more calories during rest than you do now!. Increase your weight bearing activity, as well!. In between your cardio, you might want to try some weight lifting 3 times a week!. No, you are not going to BULK! It takes a lot to do that!

The best approach for weight loss is to lose fat and maintain energy for training!. Incorporate appropriate portions of high carbohydrate (not white bread, candy and sweets) but complex carbs, like carrots (GREAT energy food!) apples, whole grains and raw veggies and eat low fat foods!. Do NOT consume anything with hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup or artificial sweeteners! The latter has been proven to lower metabolism! The reason Americans are overweight is because we consume 7 times the portions that our bodies actually need, we eat way too much protein (meat) and too much sweets (ice cream and cake!) and we consume a lot of high fructose corn syrup, which, I believe, is one of the leading causes of obesity in this country!.
You also need to know your caloric needs!. To get a rough estimate of your caloric needs, multiply the desired weight by 12-15 calories per pound for moderate activity!.
From this estimate of calories needed to maintain weight, you can determine a rough estimate of caloric needs to lose weight by subtracting 300-1,000 calories per day (subtracting fewer calories for smaller athletes)!. Divide this number into three and you'll have a caloric target for each meal!. (Based on a 3 meal a day diet!.) Females need to be aware of their iron intake when lowering caloric intake as well as calcium!
For the average person, female, you're looking at about 1,500 calories a day!. But remember this is a ROUGH estimate and varies with each individual!
Remember that genetics plays a big part in this and also medications, medical conditions, stress factors, lifestyle, etc!.!.!.
Finally, your target or training heart rate can be determined by this formula;
subtract your age from 220 and multiply by !.55 and also by !.85!. This will give you a "range" to shoot for during aerobic exercise!. Blood pressure medications can greatly affect this number!
This should be a lifestyle change for you, not a temporary thing just for your wedding day!. Accept that you might not be the weight you want to be for the wedding, but that's OK! It's not about having a big party and looking great, it's about marrying the one you love!. Stick with a change in activity level and healthy eating habits to maintain a healthy weight and a healthy mind for the rest of your life! Congrats on your wedding and best wishes!Www@Answer-Health@Com

well everything is going on fine!. your metabolism is increasing in initial days of working out!. you will start loosing more after sometime!.

you are on right track but one more thing is that initial work out will increase the muscle mass and reduce the fat, so initially you dont loose weight but you converting fat to muscle mass!. once muscle mass is enough then the same workout will result in good calories loss!. keep it up!.
good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

first off, you should be running for an hour everyday and eat 3 meals a day, don't worry about snacking, it's ok as long as you eat healthy foods instead of burgers and fries!. It might not work in a couple of months because i don't know your weight but it will work adventually! For the time being don't worry about your weight, if he/she is a good future husband/wife they won't care about your weight!. (fats and fried foods)Www@Answer-Health@Com
