Why are you suppose to mix carbs with protein??!


Question: Why are you suppose to mix carbs with protein!?!?
Answers:
It slows the digestion!. You can actually add leafy green veggies and it will do the same for carbs as well!. Your body uses carbs for energy, they are easier to break down than fat or protein, so it goes for it first!.

Complex carbs (oatmeal) are harder to break down than simple carbs (twinkie), so they provide a steady release of blood sugar!.

Your body digests everything at once, it does not selectively choose to digest carbs first, protein second or fat third!. It's all in a big tummy milkshake (yuck) so when we combine foods, it slows the digestion of everything making a steady stream of nutrients for our body!.

It's like taking a multivitamin instead of each individual vitamin one at a time!.
