It's called an "elliptical trainer" because that's the shape your feet make when you use it!. It's supposed to simulate walking/running without the stress on your knees!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Isn't it the machine you stand on upright!. You place each foot on those long thingys and run!. As you run they rotate in a circular motion !.!. !.!. kinda like a cycling motion for you legs!. You can actually run on them though, not like a treadmill much more realistic & intense!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
