Ways for 12 year olds to loose weight?

I just want to loose some weight and be healthy!!

Have parent/guardian take you in for a check up with Dr. (always the right thing to do before starting any diet or exercise program) They will get you started in the right direction. Crash or fad diets are bad, yes; you will loose weight quickly, but it is not good for your body and you will have a great chance of gaining the weight back, and pack on a few extra lbs. to go along with that. Change your eating habits to healthy ones, and get active. If you haven't been active, start out slow. Go for a long walk with a friend, ride a bike; summer is here and there are so many things for you to do.
Stay positive, give yourself a pat on the back everyday, and if you slip; well, that's ok,too. Just jump right back in and keep at it. 12 years old is a wonderful age, and I wish you all the best. This is what my overweight brother did when he was 13 and he is still in great shape, at 58. I know you can do it, but sometimes it helps when you have good freinds or family for support.
